**This gets its special appearance because the hemp is retted (the process of softening with water to allow the fibres to be taken off the plant) This is done naturally by the dew and rain in the fields rather than being cut and soaked in a bath in a factory environment.  This process allows the fabric to retain a beautiful grey tone rather than the alternative light ivory colour
